The National Standards for Group Training Organisations were developed in May 2002 by the Ministerial Council for Vocational and Technical Education (MCVTE) to provide a formal framework that promotes national consistency and quality for group training. In 2005 a review of the National Standards was undertaken and some minor changes were made. These changes became effective from 1 January 2006. The National Standards are reviewed at regular intervals.
Group Training Organisations who comply with the National Standards undergo an audit process similar to the audit process for accreditation to become a Registered Training Organisation. The relevant State or Territory Training Authorities are responsible for the reulation and auditing of GTOs. If you are interested in becoming a registered Group Training Organisation under the National Standards, please contact your State or Territory Training Authority
.
Information on all nationally registered GTOs is available from the National Register.
Copies of the National Standards for Group Training Organisations and the accompanying Resources Handbook (including a guide template for internal review and self assessment for accreditation) are available from DEEWR or you can download the documents from the Publications
page of this website.
